 What is KMAT?

The Karnataka Management Aptitude Test (KMAT) is a state-level entrance exam conducted by the KPPGCA for MBA, PGDM, and MCA programs across top colleges in Karnataka. It’s open to candidates from all over India, offering widespread access and opportunity.

Key Dates & Registration

  • Registration typically opens in mid-June or May and closes by the end of July.

  • The exam is usually conducted in August or September.

  • Admit cards are issued about a week before the exam, and results follow in the last week of the same month.

Eligibility

  • For MBA/PGDM: Bachelor’s degree in any discipline with a minimum of 50% marks (45% for reserved categories). Final-year students can also apply.

  • For MCA: Similar qualification requirements, plus Mathematics in Class 12.

Exam Format & Pattern

  • Conducted as a home-based online remote-proctored test over 2 hours.

  • Consists of 120 Multiple-Choice Questions (MCQs), divided equally into three sections:

    • Language Comprehension (40 questions)

    • Quantitative Ability / Mathematical Skills (40 questions)

    • Logical Reasoning / Basic Aptitude (40 questions)

  • No sectional time limits—candidates can switch between sections at will.

Marking Scheme

  • Each correct answer awards +1 mark, and there is no negative marking for incorrect responses.
